As many of you will have seen, one of our Year 8 students was handed a Pride of Britain award for her courage and the inspiration she gives to others. Nikki Christou has suffered from a serious, life threatening condition, known as an Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM), since she was six years old. Rather than feeling sorry for herself, she set up the Butterfly AVM charity to raise money for research into this rare condition, and started up her own YouTube channel to inspire others. To date, the Butterfly AVM charity has donated £300,000 to Great Ormond Street Hospital and University College, where the research is taking place, and her YouTube channel has over 100,000 subscribers! As if this is not enough, Nikki will also be one of the contestants on Junior Bake-Off! Well done Nikki; we are all very proud of you.
