On our trip to the British Library, we saw several interesting things. To an onlooker, it may have just seemed like 12 students looking at some crusty old books, but for us, it was legendary. We started off the trip in the gift shop because we had the chance to spend £50 that Ella Moss gave the Library after winning the Jack Petchey award. After that we went to see the treasures of the British Library and it was brilliant. There were so many cool and interesting things to find out and learn about. From the Magna Carta and Shakespeare, to Ada Lovelace and The Beatles; we discovered some of the world’s most exciting, beautiful and significant books, manuscripts and sound recordings. We went on a fabulous tour and did an educational course on the importance of research. All in all, it was a fantastic day out, much more than we expected. Thank you library staff for taking us on such a lovely outing.
