Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been another strange week here at East Barnet School. Our amazing staff have been working hard both at home and in school to keep things as ‘normal’ as possible. Staff that are able to be in have kept the school open for our key worker parents, to whom we are very grateful for all they are doing in the fight against the virus.
We have been proud to have helped organise the delivery of over a thousand Science goggles from schools in Barnet to the NHS. In addition, some of our team have also helped to make visors to give to local hospitals to help protect the front-line staff. Thank you to all involved in this effort.
Over the Easter break we will be virtually ‘closed’, and I hope that staff, students and families manage to have a good break. It is very important that we all have a break away from school work and screens. Whilst switching off is important, it may be helpful to follow a routine. A suggested timetable for students to follow is listed below. Also, please be reminded that Kooth, the online counselling service is available for those that may need it.
We will back to ‘virtual schooling’ on 20th April and further guidance about lessons and the curriculum, particularly for Year 11 and Year 13 students, will follow in that first week. For those students in Year 9, we will be continuing with the options process online. Please keep an eye out for guidance from Mr Iordanou who will be sharing the next steps with you in due course.
It is important to follow the government guidance to stay at home in order to reduce the spread of the virus. Please stay home. Protect the NHS. Save Lives.
Thinking of you all,
