Other Dress Regulations

Hairstyles

No shaven or fashionably exaggerated hairstyles.
Note: Students with extreme hairstyles will be sent home and a meeting arranged for parents and the student to discuss the situation and how the issue can be resolved.

Jewellery

The only items of jewellery permitted are stud earrings, no more than one in each ear. The studs should be discreet and not fashionably ‘over-sized’.
Note: Hoops, ‘dangling’ earrings are not allowed. Nose studs are not allowed. No other items of jewelry are permitted. Any student arriving in school wearing inappropriate jewelry will have it confiscated and returned at the end of the day with a letter for parents.

Make-up

Make-up (including nail varnish/nail extensions) may not be worn, or brought into school.
Note: Any student arriving to school wearing make-up will be asked to remove it. If a student does not comply they will be sent home and a meeting arranged with the student, parents and a Head of Year. (In some cases where there is a need to disguise blemishes or scarring permission may be given, upon request, for a student to wear a minimum amount of concealer.)

Bags

One bag strong enough to protect school books and of a size sufficient to carry school exercise and text books.  One bag to carry PE/Games Kit.

Note: No insurance cover for property and clothing brought to school by students is available to the school, and parents should bear this in mind when allowing their children to bring very expensive items onto school premises. It is important that clothing and equipment are clearly marked.
