East Barnet School Admissions

Admissions for Years 7 to 11

Access the Admissions Criteria for Secondary School transfer. This displays the current admission criteria for students who joined EBS in September 2018 and the criteria for admissions in school years 2019-20 and 2020-21. Admission criteria for 2021-22 will be published before 28th February 2020.

Admission to Year 7 2020
You will be notified on 1st March 2020 if you have or have not been offered a place at East Barnet School. If you have not been offered a place, the law gives you the right to appeal. Full details on how to do this will appear on the website before 1st March 2020.

In-Year Admissions
If you wish to apply for a place at East Barnet School, this MUST through the London Borough of Barnet who co-ordinate all applications in the borough.  All applications are duly considered in accordance with our published admission criteria. If we are unable to offer you a place, Barnet will inform you of our decision and that of any other school that you applied for. You will then be placed on the school’s waiting list (which is kept in the order of our published admissions criteria) and be given your statutory right to appeal for a place at the school if you so choose.

In-Year Appeals
These appeals are heard within 30 school days of the appeal form being lodged with the Clerk. Unless you waive this right, you will be given 10 school days’ notice of the hearing. Additional evidence must be sent to the Clerk to the panel not later than 5 working days before the hearing. Decision letters are dispatched 5 working days after the hearing. The in-year appeal form can be downloaded here.
