Location, Location, Location

East Barnet School is located in the London Borough of Barnet in East Barnet and is serviced by great train, underground and bus transport links. Being based in the outskirts of London means we benefit from a more rural location whilst being only a short train journey into the centre of London.

For those who drive, we have an ample free car park, and we have bike racks for those who choose to cycle.

EBS is fully accessible in all areas for disabled staff. Our on-site car park also has 3 dedicated disabled parking spaces; please display a blue badge when parking in a disabled space.

There are plenty of local shops and supermarkets in the surrounding area around the school, and a great view across East Barnet from our floor to ceiling panoramic Library window.

What We Offer

TIME TO MEET & PLAN

Whether you are a teacher or member of support staff, Wednesday afternoon is given over to CPD, which builds in time for training and meeting/planning through an extensive programme.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL

At many schools, a lot of opportunities are only available to teaching staff, but at EBS positions such as Deputy Heads of Year, or Heads of Houses, etc are open to all staff, including support staff.

TECHNOLOGY

We are constantly improving our technology offering to make working more efficient for everyone. Our current systems of choice are Bromcom and Microsoft Office, which all staff use extensively.

UNLOCK YOUR POTENTIAL

Within EBS you will find supportive colleagues that will help you to improve and grow whether through collaboration or coaching. A growth mindset is integral when working at EBS.

COMMUNICATIONS

A successful team relies heavily on internal communication. We have several forums in place to share information, as well as a Staff Council to allow for suggesting and sharing of ideas.

WELLBEING AND SUPPORT

At the heart of everything we do is the wellbeing of staff and students. We have many initiatives and activities for staff to participate in, such as sports clubs, pottery club, Zumba, Yoga, dry cleaning, car washing, etc.

Apprenticeships

The BeReady Kickstart for Schools scheme is an initiative that allows schools to get one or more fully-funded support staff aged 16-24 for up to 18 months. These extra staff members are provided in 6-month work placements as part of the government’s £2 billion Kickstart scheme.

At EBS we have taken this opportunity to appoint staff under this scheme in IT, Catering, Design and Technology and Facilities.
