Location, Location, Location

East Barnet School is located in the London Borough of Barnet in East Barnet and is serviced by great train, underground and bus transport links. Being based in the outskirts of London means we benefit from a more rural location whilst being only a short train journey into the centre of London.

For those who drive, we have an ample free car park, and we have bike racks for those who choose to cycle.

EBS is fully accessible in all areas for disabled staff. Our on-site car park also has 3 dedicated disabled parking spaces; please display a blue badge when parking in a disabled space.

There are plenty of local shops and supermarkets in the surrounding area around the school, and a great view across East Barnet from our floor to ceiling panoramic Library window.

Part-Time Teacher of Maths Vacancy

Closing date: Monday, 14 June 2021, 3pm.

East Barnet School is seeking an experienced part-time teacher of Mathematics to start in September 2021. The role is for three days per week and is offered on a fixed-term basis.

The ideal candidate will be able to teach Mathematics at KS3 and KS4 and, possibly, also at ‘A’ Level. You will be passionate about your teaching and committed to working together, sharing ideas and developing resources.

Our Mathematics Faculty has an outstanding team of dedicated, highly experienced professionals who will provide support and encouragement to you. Disruption-free lessons are delivered in the faculty’s own suite of well-resourced rooms.

EBS is a great place to learn and a great place to work. We are committed to growth mindset and the professional development of all colleagues. Being part of the North London Teaching Alliance (NTLA), we provide a wealth of CPD opportunities such as the ‘outstanding teacher’ programme, which complements the extensive in-house CPD offered.

Leadership and Coaching programmes are particularly useful for staff new to the school or new to post. Coaching allows you to discuss issues and anxieties in a confidential setting, separate from any assessment or performance management process.

EBS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

What We Offer

Whether you are a teacher or member of support staff, Wednesday afternoon is given over to CPD, which builds in time for training and meeting/planning through an extensive programme.

At many schools, a lot of opportunities are only available to teaching staff, but at EBS positions such as Deputy Heads of Year, or Heads of Houses, etc are open to all staff, including support staff.

We are constantly improving our technology offering to make working more efficient for everyone. Our current systems of choice are Bromcom and Microsoft Office, which all staff use extensively.

Within EBS you will find supportive colleagues that will help you to improve and grow whether through collaboration or coaching. A growth mindset is integral when working at EBS.

A successful team relies heavily on internal communication. We have several forums in place to share information, as well as a Staff Council to allow for suggesting and sharing of ideas.

At the heart of everything we do is the wellbeing of staff and students. We have many initiatives and activities for staff to participate in, such as sports clubs, pottery club, Zumba, Yoga, dry cleaning, car washing, etc.
