East Barnet School is located in the London Borough of Barnet in East Barnet and is serviced by great train, underground and bus transport links. Being based in the outskirts of London means we benefit from a more rural location whilst being only a short train journey into the centre of London.
For those who drive, we have an ample free car park, and we have bike racks for those who choose to cycle.
EBS is fully accessible in all areas for disabled staff. Our on-site car park also has 3 dedicated disabled parking spaces; please display a blue badge when parking in a disabled space.
There are plenty of local shops and supermarkets in the surrounding area around the school, and a great view across East Barnet from our floor to ceiling panoramic Library window.

EBS Staff have free access to an Employee Assistance Programme, offering 24/7 wellbeing and mental health support, including counselling services, CBT, and financial, legal and medical advice.
Termly learning schedule for teaching and support staff with training provided by internal and external professionals, as well as guest speakers. There is a development budget for specific training needs.
Any children of EBS Staff, who have been working for the school for two years or more, are given admissions priority for our oversubscribed places in Year 7, and a discount on new student uniform.

All EBS staff gather for a weekly briefing where cakes and refreshments are provided. The purpose of these briefings is to meet with colleagues, exchange ideas and hear announcements.
Staff are celebrated and receive recognition through colleague nominations, winning the weekly cup or crowns of recognition, with opportunities to win Costa drinks or enter the cash prize termly draws.
As a Microsoft school, all staff are entitled to download five free copies of Microsoft Office to their home desktops or laptops. Staff can also download a free copy of our security software, Sophos.
Staff kindly put on clubs and experiences for each other such as running, reading and pottery clubs, plus there are many staff socials outside of school hours in the local area or in Central London.
School trips are very rewarding for students and staff alike. We are very keen on jetting around the globe and previous trips have included: New York, Iceland, France, Spain, Germany, plus the legendary Ski Trip!
The autumn term can be a long one, so in November, we have a wellbeing day for staff, enabling relaxation, perhaps some Christmas shopping before the rush, or even just a lay in – a day just for you.
To make life a little easier, we have initiatives such as a cycle scheme, dry cleaning, car washing, eye tests for DSE users and much more available. Plus, we are open to more suggestions via Staff Council.

The front line of our education services are delivered by our teaching staff. There are an array of opportunities for teachers to hold additional responsibilities, run clubs, go on trips and participate in staff coaching.
Behind the scenes, from catering to premises, IT to finance, data to marketing; the Business Support Team ensure that the school runs smoothly, enabling other staff to do their job in the most efficient way.
Supporting our teachers and faculties are a selection of technicians that work closely with staff to ensure that they have the equipment and materials they need to teach lessons effectively and to schedule.
Providing student support is the job of our pastoral team, who offer assistance throughout the years. Along with our AEN Team of trained specialists, we have additional pastoral staff offering tailored support.
The BeReady Kickstart for Schools scheme is an initiative that allows schools to get one or more fully-funded support staff aged 16-24 for up to 18 months. These extra staff members are provided in 6-month work placements as part of the government’s £2 billion Kickstart scheme.
At EBS we have taken this opportunity to appoint staff under this scheme in IT, Catering, Design and Technology and Facilities.
